MASTER'S DEGREE IN CLINICAL RESEARCH

Admission Requirements

The master's degree in Clinical Research is a unique part time graduate program that develops the in-depth knowledge and skills necessary to perform valid, credible research. This innovative program was created in response to an increasing demand for well-qualified professionals able to perform patient-based research in academia, industry, research institutes, and health and regulatory agencies.

Intended Audience

The master’s degree program in Clinical Research prepares individuals to perform valid, credible patient-based research in academia, industry, research institutes, and health and regulatory agencies. Linking the academic and professional scientific communities, the program is most beneficial for:

  • Biomedical scientists employed in biomedical firms, hospitals and pharmacies
  • Clinical Research Associates working in private industry
  • Physicians
  • Pharmacists
  • Dentists
  • Nurses with advanced training
  • Psychologists

Program Admission Requirements

Items considered during the admissions review:

  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education, and a graduate degree in a scientific or healthcare related field is highly recommended
  • No GRE/GMAT required to apply
  • Minimum undergraduate/post-baccalaureate record (a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the final two years of study expected)
  • Some professional work experience in clinical research or medical practice or a related field is highly recommended
  • Completion of an online application for graduate admission
  • Resume or curriculum vitae illustrating experience and achievements
  • Compelling statement of purpose which includes the following: description of individual strengths, specific research interests and goals; an explanation of how the program will benefit you professionally, what makes you a good candidate, and why you want to be in the program
  • Three letters of recommendation which need to be relevant to the program you are applying to, and from people who know your skills and abilities, and can speak to why you are a good candidate for the program
  • TOEFL or IELTS scores for International Applicants
    (minimum 80 on TOEFL and minimum 7.0 on IELTS)
