UCSD Master's Degree in Clinical Research

Program Format

The master's degree in Clinical Research consists of 36 quarter units of study. Coursework can be completed in 18 to 30 months of study, depending upon a participant's time to devote to the program. Students enter the program either in the winter (January) or summer (July) quarter.

Most required courses are conducted year-round over four consecutive 12-week periods. The academic year is comprised of four quarters: winter (January), spring (April), summer (July) and fall (September).

Classes are typically held in the late afternoons or evenings, to allow flexibility for participants' home/work life. The regularly scheduled core classes are typically held from 4-6 p.m. at the UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest on Wednesdays, and at the UCSD Extended Studies complex in La Jolla on Thursdays.
