Dr. Brookie M. Best
M.A.S. 2007
Current Position:
Assistant Professor
Schools of Pharmacy and Medicine
UC San Diego
“I believe the MAS degree has been tremendously helpful in my career thus far."
Please describe your work:
I have teaching responsibilities in our pharmacy school and my research program in pediatric clinical pharmacology is based out of the Pediatrics Department in the School of Medicine. In the school of pharmacy, I am the Chair of the Student Research Project Committee. All of our student pharmacists have to complete a research project in order to graduate. As many of these projects are unfunded, I am constantly drawing upon my study design, epidemiology, health services and particularly biostatistics coursework from the MAS program to mentor these health professional students.
Have you received any recent grants?
Much of my research is funded by NIH as part of Clinical Trials groups (IMPAACT, PPRU, CHARTER, CIT2).
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to read novels, snowboard and play games with my husband and our two sons.
